Allendale Inc. Pre-Report Supply & Demand Estimates

10 October 2012

US - Ahead of Thursday's USDA Supply and Demand Report, Allendale Inc. has released the following pre-report estimates.

Allendale sees a slightly 400,000 acreage increase for planted acreage. Harvested though, may decline 1.3 million as USDA reflects high abandonment. Corn yields are seen increasing from 122.8 to 123.2. We expect the 193 million smaller beginning stocks, and 125 million bushel decline for production, to be offset by sharply lower new crop corn for feed and exports.

An increase of 600,000 acres is expected for planted acreage. Yields are seen increasing from 35.3 to 36.9. We expect the 39 million bushel beginning stocks and 139 million production increase, to be partially offset by higher demand.

Changes for the US include a small 1 million increase for production, a 100 million bushel increase in wheat for feed, and a 125 million drop in exports.
