Haryana Procures 5.6 MT of Wheat

INDIA - Haryana state has so far procured 5.6 million tonnes of wheat across the state during the current procurement season.

The state has procured 5.55 million tonnes of wheat, whereas 1.35 million tonnes have been procured from traders, a spokesperson of the Food and Supplies department said.

He said that Haryana state Cooperative Society and Marketing Federation (HAFED) has purchased highest 2.05 million tonnes of wheat followed by 1.58 million tonnes purchased by Food and Supplies department.

Similarly, Agro Industries Corporation has purchased 496,000 tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation procured 562,000 tonnes, Haryana State Federation of Consumers' Cooperative Wholesale Stores (CONFED) purchased 138,000 tonnes and Food Corporation of India had procured 722,000 tonnes of wheat during current procurement season so far, he adds.

The market of Sirsa saw the maximum arrival where 772,000 tonnes of wheat arrived in the grain markets, followed by Karnal with 611,000 tonnes.

Similarly, 556,000 tonnes of wheat arrived in Jind, 413,000 tonnes in district Kurukshetra, 572,000 tonnes in Kaithall, 563,000 tonnes in Fatehabad, 282,000 tonnes of wheat in Sonipat, 242,000 tonnes in Panipat, 196,000 tonnes in Palwal, 370,000 tonnes in Hisar, 191,000 tonnes in Rohtak, 181,000 tonnes in Ambala markets, among others.
