UK - UK Grain, the specialist event geared to grain handling, drying, storage and marketing, is not taking place at the East of England Showground this autumn, following a significantly easier than expected harvest for most producers and low grain prices.
The event showcase has now been scheduled to run in Autumn/Winter 2015.
“We pride ourselves on delivering the right event, to the right audience, at the right time, and this autumn is clearly not the right time for UK Grain to run,” commented Andrew Newbold of organiser FarmSmart Events. “Most producers had a very straightforward harvest, with low drying requirements, and this, combined with the low grain price, has significantly reduced the demand for such an event this year.
“After the hugely successful Tillage-Live cultivations working demonstration, which we helped deliver for the Agricultural Engineers Association in Gloucestershire earlier this month, our attention is now shifting to the Precision Farming 2015 event.
“FarmSmart will be organising the event, using the excellent facilities of the Newark and Nottinghamshire Agricultural Societies showground at Newark on Wednesday 4th March 2015 It promises to be a bumper show, with so much precision farming technology now becoming available to help farmers at every level of the industry.”
UK Grain, which started in 2007, provides the whole industry with a strategic opportunity to consider grain handling, drying, storage and marketing needs. It attracts those looking for reinvestment in their fixed equipment, updates to crop monitoring technology and detailed marketing advice. The technical exhibition is fully supported by a seminar programme, which is free to all visitors.
