INDIA - To take agriculture relations between the two countries forward, Fiji minister for agriculture, fisheries & forests minister for rural & maritime development and national disaster management, Inia Seruiratu has met Indian agriculture minister, Radha Mohan Singh in New Delhi recently.
Fiji minister was leading a delegation with an aim to sign few memorandum of understandings (MoUs) in the field of agriculture.
The MoUs proposed by the delegation to Singh includes, development of the animal husbandry industry; cooperation in areas of fisheries and aqua-culture; horticulture industry development; revamping of the rice industry; and cooperation in root crop diversification.
Radha Mohan Singh assured the Fiji delegation that his ministry will look into the points mentioned by them.
Singh said India looks forward to strengthen and take the bilateral relation to a new height and can also train students from Fiji at its Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) institutes.
