Syngenta Accepting Nominations for Resistance Fighter of the Year

15 September 2011

US - For the third consecutive year, Syngenta is recognizing the critical role that retailers, county extension agents and crop consultants play in the fight against weed resistance. Syngenta understands many growers rely on these advisors for sound weed-management advice, especially in light of the increase in resistant weeds seen across the country this season.

"We believe these individuals deserve to be recognized for their efforts," says Les Glasgow, Ph.D., manager of weed-management strategies for Syngenta. "These Resistance Fighters are on the front lines, challenging and helping growers proactively manage weed resistance, and serve a crucial role in this ever-growing challenge."

Resistance Fighter® of the Year nominations are being accepted now through Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at www.resistancefighteroftheyear.com. Eligible nominees include retailers, consultants and county extension agents who have successfully implemented resistance-management practices with producers in their areas.
