Duo CS Maize Update Details Positive Grower Experiences

05 March 2012

UK - Caussade's Duo CS maize is due to expand further following last year's successful UK trials.

The latest Duo CS Maize was launched in 2010 as a new concept in producing maize silage to bring consistency to the cow ration.

“The latest update summarises the positive experiences of a sample of our trials growers from Cornwall, Lancashire, East and West Yorkshire,” says Robin Turner, maize specialist with Caussade.

“Their comments underlines our firm belief that Duo CS Maize produces silage that brings consistency to the cow ration, improves feed, and makes happier, healthier cows.

“The growers were all pleased with the yield from this new concept in maize growing – even though it was a challenging year for maize in many areas.

“Silage samples are now being analysed of factors such as starch, ME and protein. However, the real test is how the cow likes it – and in the milk tank - so we are pleased that the view from our trials farmers is that it is feeding well and the cows love it.

“These results are very encouraging and, as well as the growth in the commercial area of Duo CS Maize, we are expanding the trials programme in 2012 to new parts of the UK,” adds Robin Turner.
