Farm Progress Show: New Innovations Designed to Get More Yield from Every Field

29 August 2013

ANALYSIS - Attendees of Farm Progress Show were feeling hot, hot, hot as temperatures approached 100 F (38 C) today in Decatur, Illinois, USA, reports Sarah Mikesell, TheCropSite senior editor, live from the show.

Despite the sweltering heat, US farmers along with farmers from around the world packed the streets in search of new innovations and stopped by the equipment manufacturers to kick some tires.

And there was no shortage of new technology to see and experience at the show this week. Every time I asked a company spokesperson "what's new this year," there was a long list of new products to hear about.

Below is an interview with John Jansen, Monsanto's New Business Lead, describing their new in-cab product, FieldScripts.

Corn yield always varies across a field. FieldScripts integrates innovations in seed science, agronomy, data analysis, precision agriculture equipment and service to provide farmers with hybrid matches and a variable rate planting prescription to improve corn yield opportunity.

Farm Progress Show will continue through August 29.
