16 May 2011CANADA - In a move that cements its commitment to growth and expansion, Hyland Seeds, a division of Dow AgroSciences, has purchased the Thompsons Limited facility located on Ross Side Road.
The purchase of this location will allow Hyland to upgrade and
expand its Nairn cereal research lab. Hyland is targeting a July 1, 2011 move-in date.
"Hyland Seeds has the top-yielding soft red and soft white winter wheat varieties on the market, along
with the top barley and spring wheat.
These product accomplishments are largely due to the leading edge cereal research done by the dedicated staff at the Nairn cereal research lab," says John Cowan,
General Manger, Hyland Seeds. "The move to this new facility will allow us to upgrade our cereal lab,
our equipment, and our staff facilities, reinforcing our dedication to remaining the leader in producing
outstanding cereal products."
"The move to this new site confirms what we already know, that Hyland Seeds is a major player in the
seed industry and will continue to offer growers leading-edge technology," says Wes Thompson,
President of Thompsons Limited. "Thompsons and Hyland have a long history together and we are
happy to help facilitate some of the growth they are experiencing through the sale of the Ross Side
