Russian Harvest Showing Strong Figures

RUSSIA - The latest figures from the Russian Agriculture Ministry show that so far the country has harvested cereal and pulse crops from 3.9 million hectares producing 14.6 million tonnes of grain.

The ministry said that harvesting is continuing in the north and south Caucasus and it has started in the central region around Belgorod, Oryol and Kursk region and in the Volga federal district in the Saratov region.

In the southern federal district 2.5 million hectares have ben harvested producing 9.3 million tonnes of grain, 1.2 million hectares have been harvested in the north Caucasus producing 4.6 million tonnes of grain.

A total of 2.2 million hectares of wheat has been harvested producing 8.4 million tonnes and 419,700 hectares of barley has been harvested producing 1.7 million tonnes.
