John Deere Takes Unique Approach at Agritechnica

17 November 2011

GERMANY - This year's Agritechnica offers a unique experience for all visitors, showcasing the most advanced technology available for planting, tilling and harvesting, writes Sarah Mikesell, TheCropSite senior editor, live from the show.

John Deere has taken this experience a step further for farmers, providing a dealer area so that farmers can talk directly to their local European dealer. This allows growers to come in and not just compare, but actually buy.

"We have dealers from all over Europe on-site, so farmers can come to Agritechnica and if they are ready, they have the opportunity to finalize their purchase," said Julia Piesker, John Deere Public Relations - Europe. "We also have quite a few dealers who bring customers to the show and this is a great chance for the dealer and farmer to review the farmer's needs."

Piesker also noted that if a farmer's dealer isn't on-site, they can enter their name and information and within a few days, they will be contacted by their local sales team.

About 3,500 pre-registered growers are slated to take guided tours of the John Deere area in Exhibit Hall 13, noting that half of those registered are from Russian-speaking countries.

"Russia holds a lot of opportunity for John Deere with their large farming operations," Piesker said. "Brazil, China and western Europe are also growth areas for us."
