Major Growth Predicted for India's Food Sector

The value of agrifood demand in India is set to rise by 136 per cent between 2009 and 2050, reflecting strong income and population growth across the continent. 

The new report assesses future trends in Indian food consumption, production and trade in one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that September 2014 ethanol production totaled 1.158 billion gallons, nearly eight per cent more than produced in September 2013. 

The UK government announced an estimated 51 thousand hectares of agricultural land in the UK were used for bioenergy in 2013.

The area of crops grown for bioenergy equated to 0.8 per cent of all arable land in the UK in 2013.
