US corn planted acres reached 96 per cent this week from 87 per cent last week. This weeks 96 per cent planted is a strong increase from the five year average of 81 per cent and 75 per cent a year ago.

All three "I" states are nearing 100 per cent corn planted, with Iowa increasing by eight per cent in the past week.

This weeks corn emergence is at 76 per cent, a 20 per cent jump from last week and way above the 5-year average of 48 per cent.

Soybean planting saw huge leaps in the "I" states, with a 46 per cent increase in Iowa, bringing the percentage planted to 85 per cent, 25 per cent higher than the 5-year average.

Planted cotton acres are at 62 per cent and remain ahead of the 5-year average at 53 per cent. Arizona and Arkansas lead the way with cotton planted percentages in the high 90's.
